I bought my Ixus 430 a few years ago. New models have been released since then, but I'm still satisfied with the quality of the pictures. Most of the time I use the camera for personal photography, but I have used it occasionally in my work as a local reporter in situations where a professional Canon EOS is too big and heavy to carry around. Canon's user interface is very intuitive: if you have ever used a Canon, it's easy to pick up any other model and just start shooting. The menus are available on my native language, which makes the camera operations even easier. On the downside the body of the camera is a bit thick and won't fit jeans pockets very easily.
