"I bought my Cannon Powershot SD1000 because of the feature that it has to take black and white photos and highlighting one color in the photo. I really loved that feature of the camera. I use it to take pictures of my dogs and my granddaughter in action. I never get a blurry photo with the Kids and Pets setting. I also love the outdoor setting that makes the sky seem more blue and the grass more green. It takes beautiful scenery photos as well. The only complaint I have is when in the black and white mode you have to hold the camera really still or you get a blurred image in the photo."
"I have been using my Canon 40D for the past 8 months (previously I had a Canon Rebel XT). I use 3 lenses with my camera, a 28-135mm Canon IS lens (kit lens), a 50mm f1.4 Canon prime lens and a 70-300mm DG Sigma lens. I use my 28-135 mm lens for regular photography and switch to my 50mm lens for portraits and indoor photography in low light. My 70-300mm lens comes handy for macro photography and situations that require greater focal lengths. The Canon 40D is an amazing camera rendering great pictures with amazing colors and sharpness. It is very user friendly with all major functions accessible through designated buttons. It has a very solid build and feels great to handle.
The live view function is my favorite. It comes handy when the camera is on a tripod and in situations that would otherwise require stressing your back and shoulder to look through the view finder. I primarily use my camera for travel photography and outdoors. After getting my 50mm lens i have started to experiment with portraits. So far i have had some great results.
The Canon 40D leaves very little to be wanted beyond what it already offers. A better and brighter LCD display would greatly enhance the already great product."
