"I have a Nikon D40 and I think it is probably one of the best cameras I have ever owned. It is lightweight the picture quality is great, the camera is fairly simple to learn to use. I bought this camera for landscape photography, as well as so that my wife could take pictures of our dogs playing in the yard.
So far the only place that I have seen room for any improvement is the very fast action shots, and sometimes with the auto focus focusing off to the sides instead of in the middle of the shot where the action is. Other than that the camera is great, I'm quite sure that the next camera that I buy will be another Nikon. I do wish however that Nikor lenses were a little bit cheaper. Nikon is not the cheapest camera out there but I think it is pretty much worth the price. "
